  • Analyzing Spotify Stream History
There's also ListenBrainz, run by the MusicBrainz org, which offers similar functionality without API restrictions or other paid features that Last.FM tries to push. https://listenbrainz.org/ If you wish to use your scrobble data at all programmatically this is a far better tool to use. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
  • EP Showing Twice
If you really <3 clean data you can give listenbrainz.org a go (you can scrobble to that and last.fm concurrently so no need to ‘jump ship’). Source: 7 months ago
  • Seeking Feedback: Tracking Vinyl Listening History
Thanks for sharing, yea listenbrainz.org has been doing some great work. Also has an API which can make things interesting. Source: 10 months ago
  • Non-Reddit Ways to find new MV releases?
One way I keep up is using https://listenbrainz.org/ to track my listening habits. Then when you're logged in https://listenbrainz.org/explore/fresh-releases/ will show new releases from artists you listen to, and with KPop you can assume there is video(s) to go with each new release so I just go to youtube then to find them. • Last.fm is slowly becoming more and more irritating to use
Spotify at least was the problem when there was tons of people complaining daily. But if last.fm is the problem now and otherwise you could try https://listenbrainz.org/ as well. You can even import your last.fm history. Source: 10 months ago
  • Last FM is getting to the point where it's not worth the trouble anymore
But if you have issues with last.fm itself there is always ListenBrainz as well. I recommend both to everyone. I scrobble to last.fm, then import to ListenBrainz, but you can send your listens straight to ListenBrainz as well. Source: 11 months ago
  • How does Last.fm determine an album? billy woods & Kenny Segal - Maps
Listenbrainz.org solves this problem, but it’s not as feature complete as last.fm, yet. Source: 11 months ago
  • cool apps/sites to use for finding obscure music.
A friend who's hard into obscura sent me this: https://listenbrainz.org Could be hot, could be not. Source: 11 months ago
  • Ah, two of my favourite artists: Jim O'Rourke and Jim O’Rourke
    p.s. listenbrainz.org doesn’t have this duplication problem 👍. Source: 12 months ago
  • Information for research
I don't know if last.fm is open with any of their data beyond what you can see while using it, but a similar smaller site https://listenbrainz.org/ is. Open Source & Open Data. Not sure if that's helpful or not though. Source: 12 months ago
  • It would be so awesome if they would let us import our data in its original date
While not a solution for last.fm, you can do this with ListenBrainz. I scrobble to Last.fm then import into ListenBrainz. I highly recommend using both! Source: 12 months ago
  • Any History or Stats Anywhere?
I scrobble my plays to ListenBrainz. You can use the webhook feature to scrobble. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Honest answer, is Spotify replaceable with Plex?
For discovery I'd suggest using https://www.last.fm/ and/or https://listenbrainz.org/ (I use both). Source: about 1 year ago
  • Any way to count collaborative tracks to each artist?
You can use https://listenbrainz.org/ it will count all artists for a track. And you can use it along side last.fm. I scrobble to last.fm then import my history into ListenBrainz. And no mixed artist issues either as it's all matched to https://musicbrainz.org/ entries and uses IDs rather than names. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What is your favourite kpop album?
According to my Last.fm/ListenBrainz accounts my most listened albums. Source: about 1 year ago
  • is there any way to edit/add scrobbles past 2 week date?
If you really want to scrobble past 2 weeks you'd have to use an alternative service such as https://listenbrainz.org/ I personally use it along with last.fm. Source: about 1 year ago
  • FYI: Musicbrainz Has a New Last.fm-Type Service
Called Listenbrainz. It has a Foobar plug-in, and even imports your last.fm data. Source: about 1 year ago
  • how many groups do you stan and how much time/money do you dedicate to them?
My https://listenbrainz.org/ map shows I listened to 260 different artists from South Korea last week. I love them all and appreciate their music. I literally always have music playing, so I dedicate all my time in that way. Plus posting on this sub. Plus adding missing artists and releases https://musicbrainz.org/ If that counts. Source: about 1 year ago
  • I heavily over-engineered a "now playing vinyl stand".. What do you think?
Now just need it to submit listens to https://listenbrainz.org/ and/or https://www.last.fm/. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Scrobbling two LastFm Accounts with Foobar2000
If you want a backup might I suggest https://listenbrainz.org/ rather than having 2 identical last.fm accounts? Scrobble to last.fm, then import your last.fm data into ListenBrainz. That's what I do at least. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Pro stats questions
Check out https://listenbrainz.org/ it's not as big as last.fm, but it's actively being developed, they are open to user suggestions, it's open source, and open data. You can use it along with last.fm, no need to compete even, scrobble to last.fm then import into ListenBrainz.org. Source: about 1 year ago
