  • What traps should I be on the lookout for in a rental contract?
Anyway, that's the plan. Feel free to throw out any insane contract bs I should be looking out for, contract insanity I could use, or any online tools I can use to actually make the contracts. I found a tool on lawdepot.com, but it was asking for a credit card with a free trial so I'd rather give that one a miss if I can. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Free NDA for Canadians?
I also use https://lawdepot.com/ as well and have been told by a lawyer friend of mine that they cover most scenarios well/. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Free NDA for Canadians?
Well this would be a free trial thing, but I use lawdepot.com. I occasionally need NDA's and employment contracts but know nothing about them, so I like just answer the questionnaire on the site and having it spit out the document I need :) I'd highly recommend accepting the need to cancel it or paying for a month considering the headache it saves. • Family Law Attorney
Alternatively, you can do most of the work on your own. If you sign up for a lawdepot.com account (around $80.00 for the year) it will walk you through step by step and you can fill out the information, do your own research and then have 2 lawyers check it over. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Alternatives for people looking for high interest rates now that Voyager is dead.
Series I Savings Bonds: I'm guessing most people know by now that the US govt is offering Series I bonds at a record rate of 9.62%, but I'll put some info about that here anyway. See more info here. Things to keep in mind: The advertised rate is only good for 6 months after your purchase, so you only effectively get half the rate. Also, you CANNOT withdraw your money for a year. The other catch is you can only buy... Source: over 1 year ago
  • How do I add somebody as an LPA (Limited power of attorney)
You can write a power of attorney yourself using templates at sites like lawdepot.com, or you can have a lawyer write one for you. Either way, in order for the company that you're pursuing to accept it you're probably going to have to get it notarized as well. The benefit of going through a lawyer is that it becomes a one stop shop - document creation and notarization can typically happen under the same roof. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Mother claims I'm estranged and threatens to remove me from Will
We moved to a new address and my mother used her Real Estate access to look up my name and our new address so she could keep mailing us letters. Just yesterday we received another letter in the mail to our new address with documents printed from LawDepot.com and my named filled in, removing me as a beneficiary. She attached a note claiming because we haven't spoken in a year that I am "estranged" and she's... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Business aspect of making an independent film- daunting!
If you start an LLC, you're going to be applying for an EIN anyway. You'll definitely need an accountant. Probably could find lots of templates and documents online for free (lawdepot.com, pandadoc.com, eforms.com, docracy.com, usefyi.com) And yes your crew would probably be 1099. • DIY contract?
Quite a few places offer this service - lawdepot.com is one, but there are others. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Purchase Car from Private Party with Lien?
You could go to lawdepot.com and make up a loan agreement with the purpose of the lender securing interest in a vehicle until the loan is paid. It customizes each agreement to be compliant with the law of each state. You just have to fill in the boilerplate with the appropriate information. I use them when we do a buy here/pay here deal when selling a car off our lot. They are legally binding. For added... Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Setting the terms for our disillusion
My STBXW and I made a separation agreement and had it notarized to ensure all those things. I made a document on lawdepot.com. Paid for one month to get the form customed to my state, and it guided you through everything. Then each of us had it notarized. Under $100 for documentation and both notaries. It is also court enforceable post divorce (of which you can do a no-fault, simple divorce and attach the... Source: about 3 years ago
  • [Landlord US-CA] Lease Agreement for Los Angeles
Lawdepot.com much better than even the MLS ones and very customizable. Source: about 3 years ago
