  • Why is Pavol Rusnak's PGP PUBLIC KEY on keybase.io longer than on rusnak.io ?
Is one of them fake? The one on keybase.io is longer. The beginning part is the same but eventually it's different text. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
  • Keybase PGP crytpo
Does anyone use keybase.io's crypto tool to decrypt and encrypt using PGP keys? - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
  • Keybase.pub https certificate expired
This breaks any proofs that are hosted on the Keybase FileSystem at https://keybase.io/. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
  • Open-source social media integrator for personal use?
Keybase does a good job at multi-platform identity validation, but it doesn't address the requirement for bridging platforms. Somebody else mentioned matrix for bridging, and that probably works for that purpose. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
  • Promotion of alternative social platforms policy
Are you aware of Keybase? People use it exactly for that. [1] http://keybase.io. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
  • Sharing secrets in a git repository using Keybase
What is Keybase? It is a social network where the profiles are associated with encryption keys. Those profiles can be verified using several integrations from a Twitter, Facebook or GitHub account to your bitcoin wallet. So you can use the public key of one of the profiles you follow to encrypt a letter or a file, and just that person can decrypt it. You can read more about it at https://keybase.io/. - Source: dev.to / 4 months ago
  • Secure E2E File Transfer Product Needed
I use keybase.io as it's easy to setup and has end to end encryption. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
  • free-for.dev

  • Twitodon: Finding Twitter Peers on Mastodon
Instead of creating a new service, it would be better if this read from https://keybase.io since those mappings already exist. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
  • Global Encryption Day: Demand End-to-End Encryption in DMs
IMhO, one company tacled that very problem head on and did a fantastic job and it's my by far prefered chat (+ more) app today. Ironically, that company, https://keybase.io, got acquired by Zoom. Keybase still works today (thankfully), but there are AFAIK no guarantees for how long. Keybase Chat is fully encrypted, persistent, and cross platform, and has the best solution to the identity problem. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
  • hiSHtory: Your shell history on steroids: Stored in context, synced to all your machines, and easily queryable
I agree with OP though that a Helm chart and self-hosted install documentation/support would probably help make this project much more popular. I self-host bitwarden, gitlab, etc and while I'm generally OK with all of those as SaaS, I just like running stuff myself. I'm weird. I still would love it if I could self-host keybase.io *nudge**wink*. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
  • Looking for/How to set up an advice forum
You could also use something like Keybase in order to receive messages in an IM format.\. - Source: Reddit / 7 months ago
  • In light of the Pocketbook closure, I made a little table for all the apps I've used
Another one for people to consider is plaintext accounting (https://plaintextaccounting.org), not as pretty as some and requires CSV import. I personal use Beancount https://beancount.github.io/docs and Fava (https://beancount.github.io/fava/) with Git versioning on Keybase (encrypted server side) https://keybase.io. - Source: Reddit / 9 months ago
  • Show HN: Smart Cards for Everyone
Calling these "Smart Cards" is misleading, as that is a very well-established term for something else (cards containing an embedded IC used for authorization) [1]. The role of "one link" to a page with links to accounts/profiles on other sites seems well-served by existing sites including LinkTree [2] and KeyBase [3]. Potential customers could already put a LinkTree URL + QR code on a business card; the website... - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
  • And they all do the same damn thing
I wish KeyBase got more love.. It has the best security and identity model IMHO: https://keybase.io. - Source: Reddit / 9 months ago
  • Bootstrapping a Secure AWS as-Code Environment - Your MVS Checklist
Apart from user creation, you should also automate identity federation and secret provisioning to ensure a comprehensive user creation cycle. A typical workflow resembles the above process flow, along with leveraging tools such as Keybase for the automatic encryption of credentials and keypairs, supported by IaC frameworks like Terraform. ]. - Source: dev.to / about 1 year ago

  • Best way for a group to chat anonymously
What is the best way for a group of people on the internet who don't know each other to be in a sort of private groupchat, like an IRC channel or a discord server. I read somewhere that Keybase can be a good app for a groupchat like that, or using an IRC channel like shown in mr robot but I dont know if that anonymous and protected enough. What would you guys recommend? - Source: Reddit / about 1 year ago

Keybase 250GB, Skynet 100 GB, then there are probably more that I don’t know about with big free plans. I managed to find Keybase for you! But I can’t speak from personal experience if it’s good or not ^. - Source: Reddit / about 1 year ago
