  • privacy-friendly screensharing
No need for it. You can go to and create a room there, which you can access through a browser, or the mobile apps. You only need to decide the room name. You can create a new one each time, or if you save the link (or make it easy to remember) you can use the same room time and time again. Having tried this, I never understood the success of things like zoom, which not only is it a privacy... Source: over 1 year ago

Oh, you're poisoned. There's something shady about all these new "chat clients" that require so much personal crap. I tend to prefer software that allows you to host your own server - Jitsi and Jitsi Meet allow that. Jitsi has ZRTP encryption and Jitsi Meet uses WebRTC for end-to-end encryption, but I like that even if you don't want to host it yourself, you can still use it without software/logins here on their... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Offering: English (American), Seeking: French (hexagonal)
I'd be happy to find a long-term language partner who has the same lofty goal and interest. I'd love to meet virtually on Sundays via Jitsi - even if it's just for ten minutes at a time - or send each other audio files on the weekend. I don't know much about American English phonetics, so my feedback will be whether or not the sounds you make sound like those of a native speaker to my ear. I can demonstrate... • Ask HN: Is it still possible to live in a terminal?
Https:// for example… I don’t think mindless cargo culture is a trend to follow, nor will tech savvy devs disappear nor will the need to remotely administer servers via command lines tools disappear.
