  • Need help with getting Dolby Vision
Infuse Pro supports Dolby Vision, but only profiles 5 & 8 (https://firecore.com/infuse, scroll down to the orange section). The profile on 4K discs is profile 7 with cross compatibility ID 6. That's the dvhe.07.06 above. If you want to know more about the profiles, look here: https://professionalsupport.dolby.com/s/article/What-is-Dolby-Vision-Profile?language=en_US. - Source: Reddit / 8 days ago
  • Curating an infinite media library using Debrid services
If you mean the video player, yes too https://firecore.com/infuse. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
  • I'm trying to build a free alternative to Syncler and Weyd
Some back story here: A month ago, I bought an Apple TV to replace my old Mi Box S. I cannot use Stremio+Torrentio anymore so I looked for alternatives. I found Infuse https://firecore.com/infuse which could play anything I throw at it, and support for Dolby Vision was eye candy. I thought that Real Debrid adn Infuse could use some automation so I built Debrid Media Manager for that purpose. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • Streaming movies and tv shows on Apple TV using Real Debrid and Infuse
Infuse is a iOS/tvOS/macOS app that allows you to watch videos of any format and has efficient hardware decoding for h264 and h265. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR, HDR10+. It also allows you to stream content from remote sources via Google Drive/Dropbox/WebDAV/FTP/SFTP/etc. It identifies your files as it automatically fetches movie metadata based from the filename. In my opinion, the best video player in the Apple... - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • Which app do you use to view your Plex/Jellyfin media on Apple TV ?
I'm sure, its advertised in their websitehttps://firecore.com/infuse. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
  • Has anyone ripped their DVDs (specifically a TV show) and watched them through your Apple TV? How’d you do it? Was it worth it?
For AppleTV I can highly recommend Infuse.. It can browse and play videos stored on a Mac, PC, NAS, media servers like Plex, Emby, Jellyfin, or cloud service like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, MEGA, and others. Plus, videos from multiple sources can all be displayed neatly together in one central library. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
  • Which app do you use to view your Plex/Jellyfin media on Apple TV ?
You don't need to pay to use infuse with Jellyfin. Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin integration is a standard feature. If you want to use files with high-res audio codecs or Dolby Vision then you would need to pay. See here for a list of standard and pro features: https://firecore.com/infuse. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
  • Hands-on: Apple planning redesigned TV app for Mac with sidebar for navigation
I’ve recently discovered Infuse and quite like it. Linked it to my Plex account and use it mostly on my Mac or iPad. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
  • Paramount plus movies in 4k look great, hope they bring UCL games in 4k
Plex and other similar apps (Infuse for example is more popular in the AppleTV world) only play local media, which means you’ll need to have a computer or NAS powered on to host the media files. You can source (high-quality) local media mostly in two ways: buying Blu-rays and ripping them, or 🏴‍☠️. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
  • Infuse alternative self hosted and web based
I want to add a network share (SMB) and play my contents directly without any type of transcoding, just like Infuse. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
  • Getting my first MacBook today (been PC for 25 yrs) and planned on using the native apps - any suggestions on 3rd party downloads?
Some recommendations: - Find a better mail client, the default is archaic. - ProtonVPN truly speaks for itself. - AdGuard For Safari is unbeatable. - The Unarchiver, for all your unzipping needs. - Infuse or INAA for video media. - CotEditor for your coding/text editing. - Rectangle for app window snapping. - LuLu stops unauthorized outgoing connects. - Do Not Disturb, if you leave it unattended... - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
  • Best Plex Device for Grandma? roku-express-4k?
In my opinion, the most stable & user-friendly Plex client device is the Apple TV and it's even better if you use it with the Infuse app instead of the native Plex app. Infuse on Apple TV supports everything other than TrueHD Atmos (it does support EAC3 Atmos though). - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
  • Making Our Hearts Sing
Of course it depends on your use case, but in my experience Android apps are much worse than what I can get on iOS. Here are a couple of examples of iOS which have (as far as I can find) nothing on Android that even comes close: Infuse (https://firecore.com/infuse) - A really nice video play that handles loads of different backends. NetNewsWire - It's literally one of the examples from the article, but I like RSS... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • 920/1520 Availability
Your best-bet might be Amazon or eBay, but YMMV. While I agree that transcoding is wonderful, ask yourself first if you need it. You might be better off using Infuse and directly streaming from Plex / Synology which would also negate the requirement of a Plex Pass. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
  • Plex on Apple TV stutter on some files
4K with HDR comes standard, according to their website: https://firecore.com/infuse I liked the app, so I ended up paying for it quickly as I thought the developers earned my buck… Have not looked back…. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
  • Apple iOS/tvOS 16 really messed PLEX up for us.
Probably not the solution you want, but I use Infuse most of the time because it does a better job with huge remuxes. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
  • How to connect to Apple TV local network
Infuse is the best app I have come across so far for media playback on ATV. It is not free, for the reason I mentioned above. They offset the licencing costs for 5.1 tracks to you, the user. Infuse has all the sharing capabilities of VLC, plus a way better UI. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
  • Report: More Developers Use Linux Than a Mac
Infuse: Powerful client for various self-hosted streaming services, best I have seen. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
  • Best Plex player end of 2022? Still Nvidia?
I'm not a apple user myself, but I would like to correct you in one thing, the Apple TV can do lossless sound, it just has to convert/change the container causing a loss of object based metadata. But if you are just looking for 7.1 Lossless, then it can do it if you play with infuse, infuse will convert TrueHD and DTS-HD to PCM which is a lossless format. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
  • Plex vs 4K Blu Ray player
AppleTV doesn't support TrueHD or DTS-HD passthrough, so Plex will have to transcode the audio, reducing its quality, before sending it to the AppleTV. The third-party player Infuse (the pro version) can decode those formats directly on the AppleTV and send it as a bitstream to your receiver, but you'll lose out on any Atmos or DTS:X metadata. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
  • Plex Questions
No, but yes. The Xbox can also pass through lossless audio, but from secondhand accounts isn't a great Plex client and struggles with high bitrate 4K content. The desktop apps/Plex HTPC support lossless audio as well, but you lose out on Dolby Vision (there might be an exception if the device is DV licensed, but those aren't common, and I don't know if Plex would recognize it). You could also use the third-party... - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
