  When you have your final PDF, use an online compression tool to compress the file. I like ilovepdf.com - it's free. You can choose from high, medium or low compression. I have found the medium option results in an almost unnoticeable loss of document quality and the resulting compressed file is usually 1/7 to 1/8 the size of the original.
