  • Victory Day in Europe sale
Congratulations on the 78th Anniversary of the Victory Day in Europe! All IL-2 products are available up to 78% OFF at il2sturmovik.com and on Steam. Source: 12 months ago
  • Just managed my first full IFR conditions sortie in the Hind! What an incredible module
If there's no sale on now, and I think it just ended, wait. IL-2 gets really, really steep discounts when it goes on sale, and that happens several times per year. Wishlist it on Steam or something, so you'll get a notification when it's cheap. If you get it through Steam, you have to buy Battle of Stalingrad, as that's considered the "master" title, and all the others are DLC of that. If you buy it direct... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Atomic Heart known connections
What pisses me off is this game is getting this kind of attention because the developers are Russian but games that are already doing this and are definitely sending dollars back to Russia like https://il2sturmovik.com/ who's CEO is well known throughout his own community as being an asshole (he claps back at bad reviews for his game on steam) yet it seems like no one's really mad about them. • would strikefighters 2 be a good cheaper alternative to DCS
If you like WW2 check out IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles, when its on sale you can pick it up cheap https://il2sturmovik.com/. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Would you guys recommend this game as a solely CO-OP experience?
Also, you should know that most of the modules are on deep sale right now on the official site. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I need some game suggestions for flight sims that I can play with my new HOTAS
If you're open to WWII sims, consider Il-2. It's on sale right now (on the developers site only), so you can pick up Battle of Moscow for just $7.50 if you want to try it. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Sim-lite with Dynamic MP Campaign?
While I wouldn't call it "sim lite", due to the planes being World War II warbirds and a much better handling of difficulty options compared to DCS, IL-2 Great Battles series fit your bill as an alternative. The more difficult requirement to fulfill is MP dynamic campaign, and to have that in IL-2 you will need to use an external tool called Pat Wilson's campaign generator (PWCG) and learn how to set it up for... • My Flightsimming Battlestation (new PC)
For modern and cold war air combat, I recommend DCS. For WW2, I recommend IL2 Great Battles series. DCS is more of an aircraft simulator. Very high fidelity study level aircraft where you can click on all the knobs and switches and stuff. Each aircraft has to be purchased separately, but you can trial each one for 2 weeks every 6 months (meaning after 6 months, your free trial period resets and you can try it free... • UA SBU busted Russian bot farm with approx. 1 million accounts in various social networks
Russians made my favourite video game. Their country birthed my favourite animator. And that's just today, in modern times, not even yet mentioning their history of art and culture. Source: over 1 year ago
  • 1946 vs Battle of Stalingrad - Steam
But don't worry, these games go on sale very very often. Usually once a month, usually 75% off. Check https://il2sturmovik.com/ as well, sign up for their newsletter to get an email when there is a sale. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Ukraine calls on gaming industry to suspend business with Russia
Yeah and that really worries me. A) because there's a lot of really cool talented people in Russia that I really like - 1C Company makes my favorite video game, and Lazy Square is my favorite youtube artist. Both Russian. Both people I want to see succeed and grow and make more wonderful content that no one else on earth can compare to. Source: about 2 years ago
  • link il2 account to steam account ?!?
As long as it doesn't appear in steam it'll be only in the il2sturmovik.com page. Source: over 2 years ago
  • HOTAS is not for me - selling my kit
You should have tried something like il2sturmovik.com before selling everything. Less of a learning curve and a lot of fun to get into with a group even on your own. Sorry to hear it wasn't for you though. Source: over 2 years ago
  • A newbie need help
One note: If you buy on steam you'll have to link your account with the il2sturmovik.com page. You can make a free account and it sometimes doesn't work (it won't link and tell you that you're using a wrong password/email), if this happens simply take a screenshot of the main menu of the game so your random username is visible (player102930 or something like that) and the 17 digits of your steam ID (you can enable... • IL2 Great Battles crashing.
Not bought it from steam bought it from https://il2sturmovik.com/. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Converting steam version to official store version?
Is it possible to convert the steam versions of the game to the https://il2sturmovik.com/ official store version? I've read the devs get more money if I buy from them directly but I had already bought some of the steam editions. I'd like to buy more content for the game but if I can't merge steam with official store I'll keep using steam to play WWI planes on WWII maps and so. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Flight sim with the best damage physics?
IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles has a very good damage model but regarding civilian aircraft you can only fly some militarized versions like the C-47A or Ju-52. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Playing with no HUD in Hardcore is so beautiful and immersive - Dogfight kill
They already did, IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles. Or there's the WWII modules for DCS World if you want an obnoxious amount of detail. IL-2 is arguably the better game for WWII air combat, DCS just goes deeper into simulating the aircraft systems specifically. War Thunders sim mode is unbeatable for variety, but has obvious tradeoffs. All have pretty good VR support. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Hi fellow aviators , is Battle of Bodenplatte going on sale anytime soon?
Damn, what a prediction. Major sale started today, and I thought back to this. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Questions before buying IL-2 battle of Bodenplatte
Please support the developer, not Steam, and buy from il2sturmovik.com. Source: almost 3 years ago
