What I've done instead is, for any recurring event that isn't really due on that date, like "book a haircut" or "fertilize roses", I add an event on a Google Calendar called "Tickler" with the desired recurrence. I then have an IFTTT (https://ifttt.com/explore) integration that creates a Todoist event in my inbox whenever that event shows up on my calendar. It doesn't show up with a due date so I can schedule it... Source: 3 months ago

Slack has a feature to schedule messages, also a bunch of bots that do various scheduling tasks… Also you could use a email marketing tool like Mailchimp that could allow you scheduling Mails far a head. Short for If This Then That, IFTTT allows users to automate actions across hundreds of different apps. Simply choose a trigger (like posting a photo to Instagram or creating a task in Asana), then choose the action that will happen as a result (posting a reminder to your calendar, uploading to Dropbox, etc.), then name and save your applet. - Source: dev.to / about 1 year ago

Pocket Automation - When I come across an article that inspires me to write, I save it to Pocket via the browser extension with a tag called To Write. I have an IFTTT recipe that automatically adds the article to my Blog Ideas list in Microsoft Todo. - Source: dev.to / 11 months ago
I use Todoist for adding tasks. It's integrated with Google Calendar, and my Google Calendar is integrated with Toggl Track. Which allows me to use the Pomodoro technique and time tracking. TickTick is also a great app for making tasks. It has a built-in calendar and time tracker. If you would like to more you can send me a message. I have created some custom automation for Todoist with help of IFTTT. Source: 11 months ago

I would suggest looking into a smart light bulb and triggering it with IFTTT. You could easily set up various ways to trigger the light, like when she texts you a certain string, or to get exactly what you want, she would just need to download the IFTTT app herself and create the workflow, then it should be possible in IFTTT to trigger a workflow from a shortcut on your homescreen.
