• Trouble With IRS EFTPS

  As of this year, the Federal government requires multi-factor authentication. You either have to use login.gov or id.me. I'm having trouble creating an account with either of those. I opted to get a voice phone call on my land line. login.gov erroneously thinks my phone number is a web VOIP number and rejects it. id.me says it's calling me but the call never arrives and the phone doesn't ring.   Can I still verify First Responder status on id.me without SSN and documentation or it is not possible without this information? Asking because I must have an a EMT/EMS ID to verify but I do not have EMT/EMS ID or do not accept. Source: 5 months ago

• Issues with a .gov address and id.me?

  I've tried utilizing various LLMs to troubleshoot before coming here. They suggested most of the above. They did have me check to see if my IP address was blacklisted via MXToolbox, and my IP address was listed for two blacklists: SORBS DUHL (TTL3600 if relevant) and Spamhaus ZEN (TTL300 if relevant). It was instant, I continued to sign up and complete the video visit using the provided link.   Im not sure as to what decision will be made on my behalf and I understand that these hearing officers handle many calls on hearings a day. But why did it seem like my officer was just so rude and in a rush to end my appeal? I kept a calm demeanor and answered her questions politely but why does it feel like they're so predatory in NOT helping citizens that are battling hard financial situations or things OUTSIDE...   I was out of town when the questionnaire was mailed to me, and honestly had no idea anything was going to come to me physically in the mail at all. I had been waiting on an email to tell me I was approved or something, but the stuff I got in the mail basically says I qualify for $504 a week, that I need to complete id.me, etc.. • Student Discount for Lenovo Laptops at BB

  In the market for the new Yoga 9i, so found a work-around. First, you need to register for the student discount on the Lenovo site and need to be verified through id.me. After verification, you can order the laptop directly from the Lenovo website, have the discount applied, then pick it up at BB. • Fraudulent id.me account

  I received an email today that made me feel suspicious. It was regarding a job from Upwork. The person wanted a copy of front/back of my ID and my cell number for an id.me "soft background check". Any time I've used id.me in the past, a link was sent and I didn't provide those docs ahead of time. I'm curious if this was similar to what you experienced. Source: 10 months ago

• Elderly parent partially fell for a scam, and scammers have pictures of their Drivers License. Additionally they shared SSN, Mother's Maiden Name, etc. How much worry do we have around the scammers creating an ID.ME account with that info.

  They did not pay the "fee" to get their prize, but the scammers got a lot of info, however no bank info was given to scammers. I recall that the ID.ME process includes the drivers license, but I don't fully remember all the steps. They currently don't have an account set up for their SSA since it just comes every month via Direct Deposit. They are several states away, so I cannot help them physically with the... Tried signing up for the burnpit registry, and it cannot find my deployment to Somalia onboard the USS Nashville in 1992 or 1993 ish. This is going to be nightmare finding my records.
