On macOS I use a PDF annotation tool called Highlights that is pretty good for excerpts and annotations. It can export these into a .md file. I export my Highlights notes into a folder inside my Obsidian vault. Source: 9 months ago

I'd suggest decoupling the process of highlighting unknown words and phrases from looking up their definition. If you are fine with doing a bulk lookup once you've finished reading a PDF, then the Highlights app is pretty great. You can export everything you highlight to a pdf file. I wrote a script to extract the text from that pdf file and use Google Translate to look everything up. I can share it with you if... Source: over 1 year ago

I am a big fan of Highlights. It works great on Mac, but I mostly use it on iPad. The markup tools are extensive and easy to use. You can also copy markdown formatted text straight from the app to paste into Obsidian. Source: over 2 years ago

Is there any app that let me annotate fast with easy to access select colors and doesnt bother me to "save as" and "replace" existing file, like one from zotero beta. I cant use zotero one because it doesn't work with some extension. I am OK with alpha or... Source: almost 3 years ago
