  • Alternative to Mixcloud and Soundcloud?
Thanks peeps for all the feedback!, I signed up at hearthis.at ..seems pretty simple, I will try it for awhile and maybe go premium? ...some good features. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Alternative to Mixcloud and Soundcloud?
Https://hearthis.at Great site. Similar to Mixcloud plus you can livestream on there also. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Alternative to Mixcloud and Soundcloud?
Even Mixcloud and Soundcloud have gone downhill lately. Might be worth looking up https://hearthis.at but it's a sad state overall, when it once felt the internet had a multitude of places for beginners to share mixes with new sites opening each year, while now it feels like everything has gone backwards and isolated or requiring lots of money to make it worthwhile. Obvious for professionals to spend money but for... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Best Site to Post Mixes (2023)
Mixcloud, YouTube, and hearthis.at are all good places where you can post your mixes for free. Mixcloud allows up to 10 mixes with their free account, unlimited when you pay $15/month for Mixcloud Pro. YouTube is unlimited uploads, but you will not be able to monetize them. HearThis.at allows about one upload per week for free. Source: about 1 year ago
  • 33 tunes from top notch raggatek labels. Expect a lot of amens, fat beats and irie riddims!
If you prefer other sites than Soundcloud, tune this on hearthis.at! Source: about 1 year ago
  • A question about a music podcast
Hi! Can you tell me please, I write articles - reviews about experimental music and ambient music and many readers recommend to make a podcast or something like that. I know that in podcasts you can use small excerpts of tracks (up to 15 seconds) as a quotation, but familiarizing with ambient tracks for 15 seconds... Is it possible to bypass or increase this unspoken rule without consequences? Is it possible to... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Question re: soundcloud vs. mixcloud and also hearthis.at...
Hearthis.at is newish. It's 35 euros a year for the pro, but for free you can upload 400 megabytes a week. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Tunes for Frank #38 💀 2nd to last show on Mixcloud. Yep, that's right...I'm bailing.
I may stay and not pay for a bit and see how it goes only having 10 shows up at a time. For me it’s not about the money, but I’m opposed to being expected to pay them to provide content to drive their traffic - content that I already spend time and money to provide them. I found https://hearthis.at/ to have a very similar layout, but I don’t know too much about it, or how they deal with copyright issues. I may... Source: over 1 year ago
  • What do you do to find new music?
Bandcamp, mixcloud, hearthis.at, radio shows (outside the US), discogs and setting the jukebox to things I've gotten that I haven't heard yet. Source: over 1 year ago
  • 🪐🪐🪐🪐🪐🪐🪐🪐🪐🪐
Hearthis.at has unlimited quality but also no one there... Source: over 1 year ago
  • How do you find music?
I get stuff from archive.org, bandcamp at random (must be free), mixcloud, youtube rips, hearthis.at, and a few other sources. DJ sets and radio programmes are the bulk of my listening. The chase is constant. My listening list played 24/7 is about 7 years long right now, longer than I expect to live actually. I don't like spotify or any streaming services but I might record something from them in real time... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Most obscure artists you know?
Everything I listen to at all. I don't like music from the big three or Spotify because I can hear the compromises made to get it to sell. I want to hear human expression and I don't care whether anything is popular or not. Sources are hearthis.at, mixcloud, bandcamp, and archive.org generally. Source: over 1 year ago
  • are we stuck?
I get out of the US to start, and you could say I have my pinky toe in the UK. I'm a big fan of freebie bandcamps, mixcloud, hearthis.at, archive.org, and netlabels. The most mainstream I get is that I'm a diehard trance fan, most partial to Armin van Buuren, and I listen to his show a lot -- there's someone who's on top and he did it without the help of the big three. I don't see the need for buying downloads... Source: over 1 year ago
  • What's the story behind the album you can't listen to anymore?
Nowadays I just load up freebie bandcamps and rip from mixcloud and hearthis.at at random, and I deliberately ignore song titles and artists -- it's more where I got it, and I try to fix it so I forget where I got things. The less I know about what I'm listening to the more I enjoy it. I let last.fm tell me what are my favourites, and it's not just the newest wave (as opposed to the old geriatric stuff from the... • What will it take for rock to make a comeback?
However there's great music all around. You just simply have to get away from the big three record companies. They're pushing what will sell to the lowest common denominator. Bandcamp. archive.org, netlabels, hearthis.at, and mixcloud are my biggest sources. My listening list just from them is about 5 years long at the moment if I play them back to back. I also watch Wire Magazine and Resident Advisor for... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Spotify Premium vs Apple Music?
Mixcloud and hearthis.at are my gotos for fresh stuff when I don't feel like knowing what I'm listening to, and it's easy to find great music that came out in the last couple of months on those. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Help me listen to music the entire world!
I just simply go out to mixcloud or hearthis.at (where you can freely download in most cases) and pick a radio show. If it's not in a language I speak, I use a translator to see what it is I'll be listening to. I hear all sorts of music from all around the world and it's such a wonderful adventure hearing amazing wonderful music but not really knowing what it is. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Albums that you need to listen to at least once in your lifetime?
Albums are so boomer it hurts. I figure our generation needs something else, so I nick radio shows, get freebie bandcamps, hang out on archive.org, mixcloud and hearthis.at among others so that I don't feed the Big Three and repeat boomer history and boomer mistakes because god damn did they fuck that up.. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Leaning toward music from my childhood
The other way around for me. I grew up during the classic rock era and it's very rare that's what I choose to listen to, being sick of it through overplay and some people's religious fervor for an album. I go for mixclouds, stuff from hearthis.at, and freebie bandcamps. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Anyone else's Spotify getting really lazy with their Daily Mixes?
I use Spotify mostly for oldies that are still in print for in my phone when I'm out and about, as I don't drive and use public transit, and I normally just pick several favourite old albums as I think of them. They're there about 50% of the time. For discovering new music I don't use spotify. I go for freebie bandcamps, mixcloud, hearthis.at, and sometimes jango radio, but jango is about 10 years behind the... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Predictions of the music industry?
I find plenty of great stuff from today as freebie bandcamps. There's also archive.org. I rip a lot of radio shows and sets from mixcloud and hearthis.at as well. I have spotify but I don't use it very often. Source: over 1 year ago
