I use scrcpy with the Dex Dock and a dummy HDMI and connect wirelessly through tcpip to the dex instance. It smoothly runs at 50-60 fps (1080p), but I have capped it to 45fps since that's enough for my use case. If you want to give scrcpy a try I'd suggest reading a bit of the documentation of the dev on github or watching a YouTube quickstart guide. As your screen broke I assume you remember your gallery pin/password. There are some apps by which you can project your phone screen to pc. By this you can easily unhide you photos and then back them up elsewhere.You can try 1. 2. Source: about 1 year ago

If you can have your phone near the PC then guiscrcpy is your best bet, on your phone you need to enable "usb debugging" for mirroring and "usb debugging (security settings)" for controlling the device ftom your PC, controllers don't work though so you would have to connect it with Bluetooth to the phone if it has the option.
