All these third-parties are just using limited APIs from other networks and sometimes only one source like the US government network which has very few sensors very far away from most people. Most Bizzare of all, even using Google's DNS, I can't resolve "maps.google.com" or "news.bbc.co.uk" on the network... Yet I CAN resolve "google.com/maps" and "bbc.co.uk/news". Source: about 1 year ago
I mean the change from maps.google.com to google.com/maps It seems trivial, but it's not. Source: about 1 year ago

I did from google.com/maps for Moscow, ID and Mad Greek did not appear, but 9 others did. Mad Greek has a lot of meat and feta cheese on salads and many other dishes, so vegans would have many, many issues. Source: over 1 year ago
The mobile application 100% needs to know your location when navigating, but maps.google.com (or now google.com/maps ) does not. Source: over 1 year ago
Also I'm pretty sure, I have visited google.com/maps a year ago and loaded the same page as maps.google.com(as in the same page, with redirecting), it probably was more of an annoyance to manage both, merging it was probably the best option, I am surprised they hadn't done it earlier. Google.com/maps input your address, click where it says "layers" and you probably will have a great from the top picture of that tree (which can be used to measure its height). Mix in a consulting arborist (not just an arborist) who can suggest how much whatever kind of tree is worth (looking at the stump, knowing how much a tree of the same size is worth etc) and get a lawyer that knows tree laws. Just to add... This only gives you a spot where you can type. You have to fill in the locations and the distance on your own. Use Google maps (google.com/maps) to get a good approximation of distance. Source: almost 2 years ago
It's just one redirecting to the other. maps.google.com is a subdomain and google.com/maps is likely an application hosted at the root of google.com. Google is incredibly large and how their infrastructure is set up I couldn't say. In IIS however, this would be the "same site" but with applications under that root site. They could also have balancing based on the URI stem to different servers. Who knows. Source: almost 2 years ago
I know that there are so many applications (Like Google Map, Apple Map, etc...) are available but I want to make them with some my own features which can help people who are blind. - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
Hello, any idea how I can force google.com search results from google.com/maps to maps.google.com instead? Google.com/maps seems to have fewer personalized results, fewer features etc and its just all around worse. I've searched and searched and can't see to find anything - setting, hidden feature, addon, hack etc. Source: almost 2 years ago
As with the local search view, the interface at google.com/maps includes the interactive listing of local business listings with an interactive map. Source: about 2 years ago
Heads up, your location comment was removed - you have to use https://maps.google.com or https://google.com/maps, rather than the shortener. It's still visible if you click onto your profile. Source: about 2 years ago
