I mean the change from maps.google.com to google.com/maps It seems trivial, but it's not. - Source: Reddit / 7 days ago

I only need access to google maps (google.com/maps), but I don't want to access google.com. It is possible? - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
I did from google.com/maps for Moscow, ID and Mad Greek did not appear, but 9 others did. Mad Greek has a lot of meat and feta cheese on salads and many other dishes, so vegans would have many, many issues. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
The mobile application 100% needs to know your location when navigating, but maps.google.com (or now google.com/maps ) does not. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
Also I'm pretty sure, I have visited google.com/maps a year ago and loaded the same page as maps.google.com(as in the same page, with redirecting), it probably was more of an annoyance to manage both, merging it was probably the best option, I am surprised they hadn't done it earlier. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
Google.com/maps input your address, click where it says "layers" and you probably will have a great from the top picture of that tree (which can be used to measure its height). Mix in a consulting arborist (not just an arborist) who can suggest how much whatever kind of tree is worth (looking at the stump, knowing how much a tree of the same size is worth etc) and get a lawyer that knows tree laws. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
On google.com/maps in satellite view at the bottom is: Imagery ©2022 ,etc. I believe the same is on the earth app. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago

Just to add... This only gives you a spot where you can type. You have to fill in the locations and the distance on your own. Use Google maps (google.com/maps) to get a good approximation of distance. - Source: Reddit / 10 months ago
It's just one redirecting to the other. maps.google.com is a subdomain and google.com/maps is likely an application hosted at the root of google.com. Google is incredibly large and how their infrastructure is set up I couldn't say. In IIS however, this would be the "same site" but with applications under that root site. They could also have balancing based on the URI stem to different servers. Who knows. - Source: Reddit / 10 months ago
I know that there are so many applications (Like Google Map, Apple Map, etc...) are available but I want to make them with some my own features which can help people who are blind. - Source: dev.to / 11 months ago
Hello, any idea how I can force google.com search results from google.com/maps to maps.google.com instead? Google.com/maps seems to have fewer personalized results, fewer features etc and its just all around worse. I've searched and searched and can't see to find anything - setting, hidden feature, addon, hack etc. - Source: Reddit / 11 months ago
As with the local search view, the interface at google.com/maps includes the interactive listing of local business listings with an interactive map. - Source: Reddit / 11 months ago
Heads up, your location comment was removed - you have to use https://maps.google.com or https://google.com/maps, rather than the shortener. It's still visible if you click onto your profile. - Source: Reddit / about 1 year ago
There's only one situation I can think of where I'd recommend turning your geolocation services on, and only for a few moments and that is when you encounter any suspicious looking devices left behind, unexploded ordnance (i.e artillery, missiles etc) or landmines. There's a cool little feature in google.com/maps where you can create a custom map that you can overlay with markers, lines / polygons, shaded polygons... - Source: Reddit / about 1 year ago
I already found what process it is in (I searched through the dump and all the ocurrecences of google.com/maps were in one specific pid). - Source: Reddit / over 1 year ago
Shields has no effect. But I just noticed, that when I open Maps from App menu (top right corner) it opens address google.sk/maps and this site has this weird behavior as I mentioned before. But when I open google.com/maps it works normally. - Source: Reddit / over 1 year ago
