  • 11 Ways to Optimize Your Website
Of course, there is no need for you to create this system on your own, there are plenty of CDN providers such as CloudFlare, Amazon CloudFront, Google Cloud CDN, Akamai, and so on. The process of setting up a CDN differs based on the provider you choose, you should check their specific documentations for details. - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago
  • IT Finance (Kick & Twitch)
AWS IVS is a great product for video steaming. However, the other two big Cloud Service Providers Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure have their own streaming solutions. It'd be funny if Kick said, "we are doing an upgrade" and they do a lift and shift from AWS to these services. If I was Kick, I'd be in talks with GCP and Azure and do a product comparison internal study. Do a Request for Information (RFI) to... Source: 10 months ago

  • Hosting your app for production – an overview
It allows your application to be geographically distributed among a group of servers that work together to provide fast delivery to everyone, no matter where they are in the world. This crucial optimization makes your app accessible for everyone in a somewhat comparable load time. The easiest and most pleasant way to ship your application to the edge is via seamless all-in-one services like Netlify or Vercel or... - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago

  • Separate backend and frontend containers
In AWS you would use Cloudfront in Azure, use Azure CDN, in GCP use Cloud CDN. If you are hosting on-prem, use HAProxy. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Serving Assets via CDN with Google Cloud
Cloud DNS: Safely look past the obnoxious inclusion of the word "Cloud" here (Google marketing be damned). This "service" involves DNS configuration for a given domain, such as adding A/AAAA records. This allows us to serve assets from a custom domain (such as cdn.hackersandslackers.com , in my case). - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago
  • Well Damn..
Spotify uses Fastly. Amazon, AWS, Google, and Netflix all use their own CDNs. Facebook used to use Akamai, I suspect they now use something in-house. I'm not sure that any of the sites on this list use CloudFlare. Source: about 2 years ago

Cloud CDN: Content Delivery Network | Google Cloud. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
  • According to Nintendo, it expects servers to be under heavy load for the Christmas weekend. If planning to use the Nintendo Switch family for the first time, they recommend that you create it in advance.
Also, all of those vendors have CDN offers: - AWS: https://aws.amazon.com/cloudfront/ - GCP: https://cloud.google.com/cdn - Azure: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/cdn/. Source: over 2 years ago
  • GitHub blocks FLoC across all of GitHub Pages
GCP does have a CDN product: https://cloud.google.com/cdn/ But at this point in time I think it'd be unfair to call Cloudflare "just a CDN" so not really equivalent. From what I've heard through the technical operations jungle. Google has been pushing their CDN product hard for a long time, which isn't a shock since they've been trying to push GCP hard for a long time. But it's a little like AWS's Cloudfront CDN.... - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
