GIG: https://gigcarshare.com/ An app that allows you to borrow a car for as long as you'd like in the Bay Area and Seattle. Source: 6 months ago
Alameda actually has a surprisingly strong car-share company in town… https://gigcarshare.com The key standouts are: * Rent by minute, hour, or day (whatever rate ends up cheapest) * Fuel and insurance is included for no added cost * One way rentals by default (park the car virtually anywhere in the “home zone”, which is most of East Bay, including Berkeley, and some public lots in SF) * Roof bike racks on every... Gig Car Share is ending operations in Sacramento at the end of February, but has daily options and all include insurance. They’re all Bolt EVs, but charging is reimbursed so no fuel costs. Car quality and cleanliness will vary. Source: about 1 year ago
This is a great list of things! You can rent a car fairly easily from a chain place like budget rental or hertz. There are also Gig car share here that allow you to rent by the minute/hour/day. This accident could have cost me my life and it bothers me to know that the person that caused it is still driving around without consequence. CA has electric car rental companies like Hive (https://drivehive.com) and a few others, but I can't find anything like it in the Seattle area. There is Gig Car Share (https://gigcarshare.com), but they only offer Prius. Not only that, the difference in cost is astronomical. Is there anything more like Drive Hive in... Has anyone ever used Gig Car Share? https://gigcarshare.com/. Going to be dorming and I was wondering if I should bring my car or use public transportation/gig/etc. Source: over 2 years ago
