  • Salary Transparency
We are also on this side and on the job boards we run [1], the companies are required to publish real salary data™ (and we also gather stats based on that). What is real salary data™ - contrary to the flawed regulations in a few states, which basically allows putting something like 1$ - 100'000$, we require companies to be more specific and have a max range of 30-40k. • IT jobs in Germany
As someone already has mentioned it above, it's best to search through offers on various job boards. I recommend https://germantechjobs.de - the interactive map feature will be very helpful here. You only need to select the relevant category (IT or Security) and all the specific numbers will just show up on the map. Could not recommend it enough :). Source: about 2 years ago
  • DevITjobs – a StackOverflow Jobs alternative with required salary data
(Co-Founder & CTO here) We started the platform in 2019 and grew to over 90'000 unique monthly visitors so far. Each company is vetted before posting jobs, and we disqualify companies which: - don't want to publish salary data - don't describer their tech stack & development maturity This means that we say "No" to many companies, but enables a more transparent job search experience for the candidates. If you have... - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago

    - mandatory salary brackets - full tech stack and easy filtering - our own dev maturity test (what tests do they write, do they have dedicated QAs, etc) It enables us to quickly grow to over 60'000 monthly visitors (combined) and the companies are also more than happy to advertise. • Jobs in IT - is the proficiency in german language required or speaking only english is enough?
+1, If you have a look at https://germantechjobs.de/ (*) and filter by the required language, you will see that around 2/3 of companies require fluency in German and the remaining 1/3 is fine with English. The thing is: those companies that require German have now a tough time finding German-speaking devs because the talent pool is simply much smaller. The trend that I see is that many of them relax the... Source: over 2 years ago

  • Where do you all find these immensely high paying jobs?
    - In Germany, 100k EUR is doable but very rare, the ceiling seems to be around 90k EUR, as you can verify on: https://germantechjobs.de/ (also the taxes are super-high if you earn more than 50k EUR). Source: over 2 years ago
  • We could make SO much more money if we were half as good at negotiating our compensation as we are at coding
    - for anyone from Europe: swissdevjobs.ch and germantechjobs.de. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Is this a good offer in Bristol, UK?
Bristol, and the UK in general, would be a much better choice when it comes to acclimatization, moving from a place like India. The language barrier could be important as well. On the other hand, Germany is winning with its standard of living. Tax- and money-wise it should be pretty similar when you combine all the necessary fees. I recommend Numbeo to check out price distribution between these two countries. As... Source: over 2 years ago
