Cool stuff! Will give it a try next time I need something like this. I found https://floorplanner.com/ to be quite useful as well. The renders are good enough for me to feel like I am looking at the space rather than a sketch. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • Sweet Home 3D is a free interior design application
I use https://floorplanner.com for similar purposes (I pay $5/month). It is great at getting the floorplan nailed, but leaves a bit to be desired when trying to fill the space with accurate furniture, patterns etc. You can have multiple variations floor plans per level. I'd start by mapping out the floor plan. Lots of people use different things, but I use a free site called "floorplanner.com". Really helps because you can add literal measurements to couches, rugs etc. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
  • If you can figure out SketchUp, it is a priceless tool to use to arrange/rearrange your furniture virtually, or pre-purchase. There are furniture models for virtually anything, and you can resize them to fit your plans. This is my dining room, which I don't need for dining alone.
I prefer FloorPlanner. It's free, but I paid to get realistic renders of my place after I got it styled (and was too excited to move in). - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago

  • Maybe it's too small??
I think pre-close second-guessing and panic are pretty normal. Try to be patient with yourself while you’re going through it. Focus on the good stuff, and that amazing neighborhood, and how you will get to live in a place you never thought possible. There are a number of websites devoted to living in smaller spaces, such as Apartment Therapy with good tips. Maybe try a free tool like floorplanner.com to help you... - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
