F5Bot is awesome. Compared to similar services, it delivers notifications in nearly real-time. I get notified about online discussions mentioning my product as they happen, not a day later.

    Simple and flawless

I've been using F5Bot to track the mentions of both SaaSHub and LibHunt for quite some time now. It is super simple to set it up and remarkably fast. What is more, it's free and you don't have restrictions on the number of terms to monitor.

The only drawback is that it monitors only Hacker News and Reddit. Yet that's big enough in most cases.

    🏁 Competitors: mention, Google Alerts
    πŸ‘ Pros:    Simple|Accurate|Free

Yes, I do. There are a bunch of tools that help with this. The two I've used are https://f5bot.com/ which monitors reddit and HN and is free, and https://syften.com/ which monitors a whole bunch more, but is paid. Source: about 1 year ago

I've only heard super bad things about Reddit ads and that it's basically never worth it. Have you tried using a social listening tool (e.g. MentionFunnel or F5Bot) that alerts you whenever someone mentions e.g. "newsletter" in a fitness related subreddit and then replying to them? I think that would give you much better results for way less money 🀷. Source: about 1 year ago

F5Bot is a good one if you want something really simple and free, and if not, then there are others out there such as GummySearch (good for audience research) and MentionFunnel (full disclaimer, I built it πŸ˜„). I use f5bot to listen to project mentions across Reddit (certain subreddits) and hacker news.
