  • PSA - Run "docker image prune" once in a while.
Thanks, I used to use it. I moved to using diun to just notify of updates but not apply them though. Source: 4 months ago
  • Seatch for apps updates notifier app
If your apps are container images, then there are tools like diun, watchtower and whatsupdocker, those can watch the image repository (like Docker Hub) and notify you if a new/updated image has been found. Some can even download and auto-update for you, but that comes at some risk of course. Source: 11 months ago
  • Unable to pull latest image
Watchtower is inferior to a project like DIUN this way. Because with double you can actually be notified by newer image versions and act accordingly. But automatic updates (which latest is aswell) are bad practice. Source: 11 months ago
  • Is there a centralized Docker Container Management for updating containers?
Diun is very similar to that, but it doesnt auto-update, just notifies but does that very well imo. Source: 12 months ago
  • Docker container update notifier - watchCat
Seems very similar to diun but I like the feature to put containers into groups. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Watchtower: understand which containers have problem from the log
If you want notifications on new image updates, try diun. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Release Watcher with UI
Argus sounds like it will do a lot/most/all of what you're looking for. Super easy to set up with Docker. I had it running for quite a while but just moved everything to either Github release notification emails or diun (docker image update notifier). No real reason for my switch besides laziness/familiarity. Check it out! Source: about 1 year ago
  • What to use with Docker?
I would instead use DIUN, which will notify you when there are updates so you can make your own decisions: https://github.com/crazy-max/diun. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Updating all Docker containers
Definitely sounds like Watchtower is best for you, but to offer an alternative, if you'd prefer to just be notified that an update is available rather than one automatically happening, you could try using diun (Docker Image Update Notifier). Source: about 1 year ago
  • [OC] Dockcheck-web, docker updates
Before your app, I was using diun, that only notify you when NEW image is released. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Potentially very dumb quesiton -- How do I update my Homepage docker image?
Recommend: I use Diun to get notified via telegram of any updates, decide which ones I want to update. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Container Updating Strategies
Don't use watchtower. It only looks for the latest tag on a container, latest could be v2 and then become v3 which has breaking changes. If you insist, use watchtower in notify-only mode or check out Diun instead and never use a latest tag ever again. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Notification about new images
Been using DIUN for years now. You can get notified for image versions you have or additional versions of a specific image. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Self-host an automated Jellyfin media streaming stack
I use Diun to just get notified about new releases and then I can choose to manually update or not. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Monitoring for Docker container updates?
I haven't used this but it sounds like what you're looking for Https://github.com/crazy-max/diun. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Reminder: Update Your Apps Regularly
It's worth considering DIUN instead as it leaves you in control and doesn't auto deploy (breaking) updates. Source: over 1 year ago
  • docker-update-report: a tool to determine which containers have updated images
Nice work. Could you point out how your tool differs from diun ( https://github.com/crazy-max/diun). Thanks. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Jellyfin on Synology NAS with Portainer and Watchtower
Highly recommend using diun rather than Watchtower. I started out using Watchtower and ran across some of the issues you may have seen popping up here lately with several of my containers. Namely I've had updates break various parts of my infrastructure, including services I provide for my spouse as well as internet in my home. Frantically downgrading sucks. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Software updates
There are projects that can help with image update detection like diun. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is it possible to have a script to detect if a tag has moved?
I think I have done similar things with DIUN. You can either watch a certain tag or scan all updates of tags in a registry if I remember correctly. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • error="Cannot get image digest from HEAD request: invalid checksum digest format" with Diun from redhat registry
I've been trying to get a software to notify when there's a new update on UBI8 Images provide from Red Hat. I found Diun for what I needed and was really simple usage. ( https://github.com/crazy-max/diun ). Source: about 2 years ago
