Thanks for the https://deviceinfo.me/ link! Very useful. Source: about 1 year ago
No, it changes the user agent to Linux (android) or Mac (iPhone) to get the desktop site of the webpage. A handy site to check it is deviceinfo.me. Source: about 1 year ago
Https://deviceinfo.me would illustrate it better. Source: about 1 year ago
I can add 1 more extension (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/privacy-tweaks/indpljpndioefdhmhafebdcddigbogbn/related) and it will block nearly everything on deviceinfo.me that 'Aggressively block fingerprinting' on Brave does. Source: about 1 year ago
Sites like https://deviceinfo.me are able to detect when I try to spoof my UA string or OS with UA switcher. deviceinfo.me would tell me my "True OS" and "True Browser Core". Using Chameleon however, deviceinfo.me could not detect my true OS or true browser core. Source: about 1 year ago
I don't know about Chrome based browsers but if you are using Firefox you can try user.js from arkenfox [link] or from pyllyukko [link] (I personally recommend the first one because they have a great wiki), you just put the script to your Firefox profile directory and it will spoof your screen resolution, link referrer, user agent, etc. (Remember to manually edit the file to suit your preferences, otherwise it may... Also, nerd here. Incognito is not actually safe. Especially not on google. Go to https://deviceinfo.me and it will basically tell you what every website you go to can see. (Its really easy to grab that data from somebody else to). The real incognito mode is the Tor browser. It is completely decentralized. It sends your traffic through the Tor network and encrypts it in three layers of encryption. It also has dark... Source: almost 2 years ago
Over at deviceinfo.me I got pretty much identical results...so I wouldn't say Vivaldi is as bad as that comparison makes it to be, granted I did have a few privacy plugins installed. Source: almost 2 years ago
Brave or librewolf - whatever you prefer. I find brave performs best out of any browser on anti-fingerprinting tests like this and this. . Source: almost 2 years ago
Use MullVad, it blocks your connection if there's a leak. Then go to something like deviceinfo.me to see what you're still leaking in your browser. Source: almost 2 years ago
I just tested two popular extensions for user agent spoofing (using firefox) on deviceinfo.me (<- which also tries to reveal your actual operating system), amiunique.org and this site (link contained an "evil" tech term so I can't post it) and none could tell my actual OS and only displayed the spoofed one, which is good I guess. Brave is better. Both will adequately block 3rd party trackers and Brave has much better fingerprinting protections (tested on this website and this website). Source: about 2 years ago
Fingerprinting is basically what your browser gives to a webpage, you can go to sites like https://deviceinfo.me and https://coveryourtracks.eff.org to see all your fingerprint information. Source: about 2 years ago
Websites actually know even more than just cores, you can look at deviceinfo.me, pretty useful project that shows you what websites can actually see. Source: about 2 years ago
How does deviceinfo.me know that I am logged into Google on my browser? Source: about 2 years ago
There's a site deviceinfo.me which is used for web browser security testing, testing browser fingerprints etc. I have taken various steps to harden my browser, used several extensions. MOST IMPORTANTLY: I have spoofed my user-agent string to display that I am using a different browser (chrome) on a different OS. Source: about 2 years ago
I was looking around at https://deviceinfo.me to see what are the fingerprints that Firefoxgive up to the websites. I tried this in a new Profile. Source: about 2 years ago
Most browsers these days give zero sh*ts about your privacy which is why I like Brave. Most Browsers act like they are the safe, secure, and private options but mostly its a load of BS. Go to deviceinfo.me on Brave and compare it to Chrome or Firefox. Or better yet here to test the ability of a browser to fingerprint you. Brave is the only browser (other than TOR) I've ever used that properly resists... Source: over 2 years ago
Deviceinfo.me shows this (Though mine is blocked the way I have my browser set up). Source: over 2 years ago
