Dato is a calendar app that gives me quick access to my calendar from the menu bar. My favorite feature is that it shows upcoming calls in the menu bar. And there’s a global shortcut to open this link in your default browser. - Source: dev.to / about 2 months ago
Weird question, but it seems similar to me; do you know how it compares to Dato? https://sindresorhus.com/dato. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
I made this companion to the built-in Calendar app for people who want to be able to quickly check their upcoming schedule without having to open the Calendar app. It also lets you quickly join video calls. I'm the creator of the Dato calendar app, which is quite large in scope. This app was a personal challenge to create the simplest calendar app possible. Source: 11 months ago
My Dato app has a widget to show the current month and the next month or the next three. Screenshot. Source: 12 months ago
Thanks for the suggestion! This app was reccomended here as well, and its just right for me - full screen loud alerts and many additional features Https://sindresorhus.com/dato. Source: about 1 year ago
Https://sindresorhus.com/dato This is what works for me, suggested by someone on this thread. One time payment, and WAY more features than the other one. Source: about 1 year ago
Dato (Paid) Calendar events and world clocks in your menu bar. Source: about 1 year ago
If you're ok with just a list of events, you may find my Dato app useful. It shows event details when you move your mouse over events. There's a trial available if you want to try it out. Source: over 1 year ago
I unfortunately don't plan to add keyboard shortcuts. I want to keep this app simple. My other more powerful calendar app does have this though. Source: over 1 year ago
Hey, I'm the creator. I made this app as a personal challenge to create the simplest calendar app possible. I already maintain a fairly well-known and feature-rich calendar app called Dato. This is the complete opposite of Dato. Source: over 1 year ago
I've been amazed almost every single day since I installed it few months ago by how useful and well done Dato on macOS is. https://sindresorhus.com/dato It fixes one of my main issue with macOS, its inability to show a calendar by clicking on the day in status bar, and adds tons of great feature without feeling bloaty. Great great job. Thank you Sindre Sorhus for making my life easier ! - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
If you're looking for an alternative without a subscription, check out my Dato app in combination with the built-in Calendar app. There's a fully functional trial available here. Source: almost 2 years ago
Dato - Replacement clock for the menubar. - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
Dato - A better date app for MacOS. I also love that you can have clocks for different timezones. I have a UTC clock which is super helpful when working on a remote team with colleagues all over the planet. - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago
If anyone is looking for a replacement for Fantastical, try out the system Calendar app in combination with my Dato app (one-time payment, will never be subscription). Source: about 2 years ago
Check https://sindresorhus.com/dato. Just not sure if it allows easily copying the time text. Source: about 2 years ago
The utility app ecosystem is just way, way better. Apps like Dato, Kap, Disk Drill, and Flotato may have analogues on Windows, but in my experience they're almost always a hundred times better on Mac. The community really just is better. Source: over 2 years ago
I love https://sindresorhus.com/dato, it will show you upcoming calendar events in a menu from your menu bar. Source: over 2 years ago
There was this app Dato that did this. It still works but since Big Sur you can’t remove the system time from the menu bar, so this app isn’t really useful unless you’re ok with 2 times in the menu bar. It might be ok if the system time is the analog clock so it takes up less space, perhaps. Source: almost 3 years ago
117 comments and Dato[0] isn't mentioned. Works great for me, I replaced the Fantastical menu bar with it 6 months ago. One-time cost. [0] https://sindresorhus.com/dato. - Source: Hacker News / about 3 years ago
For managing events - Calendar, for just displaying calendar view (month + agenda) - Dato is quite inexpensive ($7) and looks great. Source: about 3 years ago
