  • Ask HN: It Was Better with Www
We all act like writing www. Is lame and for dads/grandparents, but the truth is: 1. You never know when you need to write https:// 2. It looks a lot uglier 3. Literally means "hypertext transfer protocol (secure)" (I had to look it up, and I am a hacker news user.) 4. Just happened to me: in a youtube description you cant just put ycombinator.com, you have to write https://ycombinator.com. This is not a problem... - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago

I found the link originally at ycombinator.com and they have some discussion around it. Source: 12 months ago
  • Did Twitter die, Elon?
I said this on ycombinator.com, if Elon spent more time on his business rather than arguing online about covid (which is what he was doing at the time of the outage btw), I feel like less twitter outages would happen and perhaps the Twitter Status would be properly updated. Of course, he would rather spend his time conversing online like a 14 year old on MW2 instead of actually doing his job. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Making Something Waspy: A Review Of Wasp
I wish I could remember what took me to YCombinator's website on the 10th of October, 2022. That was when I first heard about Wasp and another language called DarkLang. After I learned about Wasp, I was intrigued and curious to know how it works, which led me to join the discord server the next day. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
  • "what did you hack" question and answer not visible in application review
Hmmm. I did not receive any communication from ycombinator.com ever. Is there another domain it comes from? Should I be concerned? My application is showing as "Submitted.". Source: over 1 year ago

  • How/Where can I contact VCs/Angel Investors?
Where are you? Go to startup events and meetups. A lot of angel groups have websites that take unsolicited proposals. crunchbase.com might give you some ideas of who to pursue. Source: 10 months ago
  • Investor Takes 7% Stake in Tiny $QMCI
Lots of things that make you go Hmmmmmmmm here. New investor (Michael H. Giles) is also CEO of Embed Financial Technologies. More info about him can be found on crunchbase.com . Looks like Mr. Giles has funded, or founded companies that do similar, or complementary things like what $QMCI does. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is LinkedIn the best site for finding jobs in our field?
LinkedIn works for most use cases. Glassdoor / Indeed is trash for tech jobs. For startups, it helps to filter down the noise. Topstartups.io is good for that; same with crunchbase.com but they will paywall you hard. Source: over 1 year ago
