25 Python Frameworks to Master
It’s a great option for creating simple and easy-to-use graphical user interfaces in Python and allows you to add a GUI to your already working scripts pretty easily. PySimpleGUI wraps the power of 4 different GUI libraries, PySide, Tkinter, wxPython, and Remi.

Which Python GUI library should you use? Comparing the Python GUI libraries available in 2023
Before the Qt Company (under Nokia) released the officially supported PySide library in 2009, Riverbank Computing had released PyQt in 1998. The main difference between these two libraries is in licensing. The free-to-use version of PyQt is licensed under GNU General Public License (GPL) v3 but PySide is licensed under GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). This means...
Top 10 Python GUI Frameworks for Developers
PySide2 is built by the same company that gave us the widely popular application development framework Qt. Upon looking closely, you’ll come across the term “Qt for Python Project”, which is nothing but the task of porting PySide to support Qt5, whereas the framework itself is now being called PySide2.

  • The Decline and Fall of Java on the Desktop Part 1 (1999-2005)
    > Java Swing still lets you make native-looking-and-feeling apps (with some care). I don't know of any new GUI frameworks that let you do the same. That's the whole raison d'être of the (C++) wxWidgets toolkit. [0] It fully commits to using native GUI widgets, rather than impersonating them. (That is, it wraps various other toolkits.) As others have pointed out, the other major cross-platform toolkits (Qt, GTK)... - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • Why is Audacity not up to date in Arch repo?
That all being said: We are now all waiting on wxwidgets to release their next stable version so that we can upgrade. It makes no sense to use an unstable version of that upstream, as in its development releases it literally breaks on every patch level release. It also makes no sense to start packaging a custom version of wxgtk just for audacity (the overhead required is just not worth it). Source: over 2 years ago
  • Ask HN: Is there any cross platform non native GUI written in C that looks good?
Looking good is very subjective of course… did you take a look at wxWidgets? https://wxwidgets.org/. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
