OPNsense mentions (24)

  • SSH Attacks
This is why a good firewall in your router is important and why it's called an "edge device". There are open source versions like https://www.pfsense.org and https://opnsense.org (which are both based on BSD and similar. There are also many higher priced enterprise solutions. - Source: Reddit / 27 days ago

  • How to build an Firewall?
I wouldn't recommend using a pi, but its a common practice among tech savvy people. spend a couple hundred bucks on older server hardware, install something like https://opnsense.org/ and get a firewall/router that has enterprise level capabilities (including vpn) that would cost a few grand. - Source: Reddit / 29 days ago
  • Please Log in with Router's Password
Grab an old office computer stick and Intel NIC and run OPNsense [0] on it. I've got an old Lenovo ThinkStation and it works brilliantly. [0] https://opnsense.org/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • [Question] Raspberry Pi NAS/Home Cloud with data syncing
An enterprise-class firewall, like the free versions of pfSense, OPNsense, Sophos UTM, etc. These will provide better security by filtering incoming traffic. I'm no network engineer and I've been running pfSense at home for years. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
