I do think generative AI has some really interesting possibilities for interactive media - but I don't see how it unlocks anything. It's clear there's a market for well-designed and compelling VR chat. VRChat[1] has a large community and had a very active developer community[2]. Nothing quite as serious as full ISO 15066 compliance, for this project it’s just a goal and overall a proof of concept for academia so if it falls short in some areas it’s okay. It’s funny that you mention the Kinetic, we are actually using a distant relative, the Azure Kinect which, like you mentioned, has some pretty impressive accuracy and ability for what it is.
