  • Today is the final day to register for the August 8 Ohio special election that will determine whether the state’s abortion rights Constitutional Amendment in November will need 50.01% of the vote or a 60% supermajority to pass. Are you going to vote in it, and how do you see the result going?
Not completely on topic, but I wanted to share that I just wrote letters via Vote Forward (and had a letter writing party) for this election, if anyone wants to join in from not-in-Ohio! Source: 10 months ago
  • Poll: Ohio divided on ballot measure threatening abortion protections
If anyone is looking for a way to get involved and help defeat this, consider writing letters for vote forward: https://votefwd.org. Source: 10 months ago
  • We all know that voting correctly is the only way we’ll regain our reproductive and sexual freedom. I’m trying to increase voter turn out and would like some input. If you have never volunteered for a political issue or campaign, I’d love to know why. No judgement, I’m just looking for info.
Thanks for your reply. Just so you know, being a voting advocate for friends and family is an incredibly effective way to get out the vote. Every year, I contact all my peeps and make sure their registration and address are correct, and they know when, where and how to vote, so keep up the good work! Sounds good but please vote Nov ‘24. https://vote.org and https://turbovote.com. Source: 5 months ago
  • Trump’s call to ‘go into’ cities and ‘watch’ elections sounds alarms
Vote.org for anyone reading this. You can find out how to register to vote, and you can learn about the options available to you (in person, by mail, etc). Source: 5 months ago
  • Are You Registered To Vote?
You can check your status (or actually register to vote) by going to vote.org and selecting your state. It's simple and takes very little time. Do it now so you're ready for the November 2023 local and state elections and to have one less thing to worry about going into the 2024 General Election. Source: 7 months ago
  • Ohio special election August 2023: Issue 1 is attracting millions
Friendly reminder to go to vote.org and Ohio Democrats, make sure you're registered, register like-minded individuals, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. Go to r/voteDem for more opportunities to see what you can do in your area! This isn't just about Nov 2024, but all the little stuff in between (like Issue 1!!!) Early voting has ALREADY started, but it's not too late by any means at all!! Source: 9 months ago
  • What is something you wish you could change about Virginia?
But, but... it's for the kids! (except for when the kids are being shot, then we don't give a shit). It's so insanely transparent and obvious that legislators (on both sides of the aisle, but definitely one side more than the other these days) use 'kid safety' as an excuse to push through distracting and fascist state style policies. Same thing that was happening in 1930 Germany. I'm re-reading The Rise and Fall... Source: 10 months ago
