The 5 Best VirtualBox Alternatives for Windows in 2019
VirtualBox is a great piece of virtualization software from Oracle. It is free, easy to use and brings the potential of virtual machines to the home. It is used in enterprise but the free version is most often used at home to host different operating systems within your Windows installation. VirtualBox isn’t the only show in town though. Here are what I think are the best...

Best Server Virtualization Software
While it’s on the rudimentary side of things and differs from the more powerful server virtualization tools on this list, Parallels Desktop is still a reliable virtualization tool for desktop users. This product allows users to operate Windows OS in addition to their native OS—typically a macOS alternative. This is helpful for smaller businesses needing to regularly use...
The 5 Best VirtualBox Alternatives for Windows in 2019
Parallels was originally designed to run Windows guests within MacOS hosts. That expanded to include all host operating systems and should now run on any Intel-based computer. I didn’t find this as intuitive to use as VirtualBox or VMWare but it makes short work of installing guest OS. It is easy to set up too which is always good.
IT support: Seven alternatives to VirtualBox
Parallels is a MacOS X version of VirtualBox designed specifically to run Windows within a Mac. It is a very accomplished program that works well within the Mac environment and offers a stable shell to run Windows. Parallels is straightforward to configure and is a very polished product. • i have windows 10 on my laptop and i will need to install debian 10 on it. i need this for school. so how do i do it?
Virtual machines are likely to give you less headache than dual booting. Windows updates sometimes (often?) borks dual boots. You could look into installing VirtualBox in win10 and then installing Debian as a guest OS in VirtualBox. Then Debian lives as a file on your Win10, do you don't even need to reboot the physical PC to use Debian. Windows updates are also unlikely to break it. - Source: Reddit / 14 days ago

Yep, as u/micklep2012 says, virtualbox is the way to go. Free, easy and super good! Although, you will need the specs for it. I'd recommend atleast 8gb ram, so you can half that to 4gb for the vm. Also, a 4 core cpu is required - although my friend got a single core vm on his macbook air working pretty nice. You can download it here. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
