Once I got the basics down with duolingo and kept improving I added some vocabulary and spaced repetition programs - my favorite was clozemaster. Started with Duolingo before I got too committed to the language, confirmed I was interested and dedicated to daily learning and so got a textbook that had available audio (often found on youtube after some digging), and saw the most improvement when I joined a language site that had lessons. I use Twitter. The Tweetdeck website is perfect for this. You can make lists for the topics of your choice and put whatever accounts you want into those lists. You never see a single dumb user comment unless you specifically want to. Source: 11 months ago
