Why not just use https://www.rawtherapee.com/ or https://www.darktable.org/ to process raw files? You can still export from these as .xcf or tiff for further work in gimp if you like. I loved using https://dslrdashboard.info/ when I had a compatible DSLR. My current mirrorless is no longer compatible. There's a version for just about every OS. Can grab it right from the Apple app store or Google Play store too. Works with a USB connection from phone to camera if necessary. Source: about 2 years ago
