Typora Reviews

  1. Simplicity and elegance

It is very well built with simplicity in mind. There are several themes and all of them look amazing. I love the "typewriter" and "focus" mode. In contrast with other apps that focus the current window and remove all visibility options, Typora goes one step ahead and fades down all other paragraphs as well.

🏁 Competitors: ghostwriter, iA Writer, MonsterWriter
    👍 Pros:    Beautiful themes|Typewriter mode|Focus mode

  • Best app for Mac to take maths notes
Maybe check out Typora. It's basically a github-flavoured markdown editor which displays your markdown input directly formatted, e.g. Typing *hello* and hit space to see hello. Also it's super lightweight and supports many more functionalities as github-style markdown, in particular Latex. - Source: Reddit / 12 days ago

You can also use this markdown text editor https://typora.io/ to format text, insert Tables and so on, then copy it and paste into Reddit post or comment. - Source: Reddit / 13 days ago
  • What Do You Use for Writing?
I use Typora. It stores files in a format called Markdown, which is basically plain text with some extra formatting. It doesn't have as many tools as something like Scrivener, but it looks really nice and gets out of the way. Plus, Markdown files are a lot easier to sync and open in other applications, since they're literally just text files. - Source: Reddit / 21 days ago
  • What are everyone's thoughts on Scrivener?
I now write in a simple markdown editor, clean simple UI, easy to save files over the cloud, and easily formatted for export to EPUB. Specifically, I use Typora. - Source: Reddit / 22 days ago
  • How do I keep the original full file name on converted files?
Maybe try something like Ghostwriter or Typora? - Source: Reddit / 25 days ago
