Typing Core's answer
I used to go to a specific website to practice typing. One day, as usual, I opened the same website to practice my typing speed, but it was full of ads. Some ads had animations and were displayed during typing practices. All of that was really distracting. So I decided to search for other typing sites.
I went to many websites and many of them didn't provide a natural typing experience. For example, if you made a mistake, you couldn't keep typing if the mistake wasn't fixed. In other cases you could not correct previous words, or it was difficult to keep track of the next character to be typed.
Later I found some good typing websites. But none of them had the simplicity I wanted and the information I needed in the typing test results. It was then that I decided to create a website to provide people with the experience I could not find when I was looking for typing sites.
That's how the Typing Core project came about, with a simple interface, without ads during the typing tests and with complete information in the typing test results.

If you can type the pangram the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog without looking at your keyboard, then you know where all 26 letters of the alphabet are on the Dvorak layout. That means that you no longer have any need for the beginner websites such as typing.com or typingclub.com or ratatype.com and can instead move onto the second of the two phases of learning to type. The second phase is one that... Source: 10 months ago
There are sites like typing.com, typingclub.com, ratatype.com, typingstudy.com and keybr.com which are all designed to help people learn to touch type. Their purpose is to take someone who has to look down at the keyboard and "hunt and peck" at the keys in order to type, and get them to the point where they don't need to look at the keyboard at all when they type. That's great. That means that you will be able to pick up proper touch typing really quickly. It's going to feel really slow at first. It's going to feel really awful. But it will get better quickly. ratatype.com is pretty good, but to be honest, all these sites and pieces of software are very similar as there is only so much that can be said about learning to type. Whilst your friend may not have been aware of the "home row" technique taught on typing.com and typingclub.com and ratatype.com your friend might have already been able to type pretty quickly using their own less conventional method. Source: 12 months ago
If you read any typing guide or watch any video on the subject, the first thing thta they all say, and the first thing that they all agree on, even if there's a whole bunch of things they don't agree on, is that you should follow something like typing.com, typingclub.com, ratatype.com or keybr.com to learn to touch type with all your fingers and so that you never have to look down at the keyboard.
