I use Twitter. The Tweetdeck website is perfect for this. You can make lists for the topics of your choice and put whatever accounts you want into those lists. You never see a single dumb user comment unless you specifically want to. Source: 10 months ago

Somehow I don't think the handful of Reddit commenters are representative of the hundreds of millions of Twitter users. Also, not sure if this is a thing on Twitter but I wasn't happy with the delay I was seeing on my home tab so I found this site: https://twitterfall.com/ That made the delay a little less and I just had a browser window open for it all day.
