I, unfortunately, was lead on a project to move file server data to SharePoint for several departments. While your post may be in jest...it was the bane of my existence for a time. This tool (TLPD) was a life saver, I sent the reports to the specific departments for users to reduce the length. I tried downloading an unlocker program to see if maybe any processes were stalling it, but not even that could remove the file. I'm completely at a loss. I could just ignore the file for the rest of my life, but I'd really rather not with how concerningly broken it is. Source: 11 months ago
If you have write access to that filesystem... Maybe there are open files or folders, something is keeping it in use Try rebooting, or you can try LockHunter: LockHunter is a free 64/32 bit tool to delete files blocked by any processes. Source: 12 months ago
