11 Best Quicken Alternatives in 2021 (#1 is Free)
I don’t know how they do it, but Tiller Money has figured out how to turn a Google Sheet into a dynamic budgeting tool. You link your bank accounts and credit cards to Tiller’s Google Sheet tool, and it automatically downloads all of your transactions. From there you can create budgets, categorize spending and generate reports.

11 Best Quicken Alternatives in 2021 (#1 is Free)
I’m old enough to remember the envelope method of budgeting. My mom used it. When the money in the grocery envelope ran out, we stopped going to the grocery story until payday (seriously). Today, the envelope budget is still a smart way to manage money for those living paycheck-to-paycheck. If you want a digital version of the time-tested budgeting system, give GoodBudget a...

Top 15 Budget Apps to Make Your Personal Finance Goals Easy
Goodbudget is like other budgeting apps that utilize the envelope system. Instead of syncing up your personal accounts, users manually enter information. Yes, it’s more work, but it also keeps you fully invested in what’s going on with your money. It’s a nice middle ground between fully-automated budgeting and reverting to paper envelopes and a pencil.

  • any automated tools to pull bank/credit card data?
Tiller (tillerhq.com) does this for $80/year. It downloads into a spreadsheet that also provides budgeting -- but you can do whatever you want with the data. I'm happy with it for multiple accounts and credit cards. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Spreadsheets Are Hot–and Cranking Out Complex Code
I use Google Sheets for personal finance with TillerHQ to automate downloading bank data. It is, as far as I know, the only workable solution in this space. http://tillerhq.com. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • Best way to track the totality of all your finances (in one place)?
Tiller. tillerhq.com connects to your accounts and fills in the line items into a gsheet or excel for you. Once there, they have templates to use or you can roll your own in spreadsheets. I moved to this after being a Mint / Quicken user for years. Only thing that would let me do what I really wanted. Source: about 2 years ago
  • YNAB Alternative
I use a software called Tiller. It links to Google Sheets and then feeds your bank info in. It has worked fantastic for 4+ years. The biggest perk, is that all the data is in a normal Google sheet, so I can use all the normal Google apis, formulas, etc; to move transactions around and store long term history. Plus their templates are fantastic and they have a labs app also with tons for niche templates that are... Source: over 2 years ago
