I haven't used it in a while but https://theoldreader.com/ seemed like a fairly drop-in replacement for Google Reader. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago
Https://theoldreader.com/ Just toss in a site you like, it'll (try to) find the RSS feed, and you're done. I have about 50 sites added in the old reader, and it makes following them easy. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
Perhaps. I fired up my ancient Old Reader account last night and started adding some feeds I'm interested in. Pretty hilarious looking back at the ones I had like 10 years ago (99% of were dead). Source: 11 months ago
Https://theoldreader.com is an exact clone. Source: about 1 year ago
Blurgh. Sorry, I didn't try it out, just saw that it looked something like RSS. I also use it for its Popular Bookmarks - I subscribed to its RSS feed in NewsBlur and always have something interesting to read when my other feeds are Empty (they rarely are). - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago

Https://newsblur.com/ I think this might be pretty close to what you're looking for. It's an RSS feed reader with a platform for discussions. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
Currently I'm on Newsblur. But it's really convoluted to Self host - to my "shame" I use their cloud hosted app with premium. It's (over)laden with features that I actually use and cheaper than for example Feedly. Source: 11 months ago
I start every day with RSS subscriptions using NewsBlur (https://newsblur.com) and Reeder (https://reederapp.com). I've also set up a page so other people can see my subscriptions / what I'm reading: https://sources.werd.io. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
