What’s the Best Online Tax Preparation Software? TaxAct vs TurboTax vs H&R Block
Price Lock Guarantee. TaxAct offers a price lock guarantee to all customers at sign-up. Once you create your account, you’re locked into TaxAct’s pricing at that moment, even if you leave your return for months and TaxAct raises prices during the intervening period. Since tax prep companies frequently raise prices close to the filing deadline, this is great news for frugal...
TaxAct vs. TurboTax 2018
TaxAct’s audit assistance consists of a FAQ page on its website. But customers can buy audit defense from a partner company called Protection Plus for $49. Coverage includes three years of audit services for this year’s return, and TaxAct says the product will guide you through the audit process, handle IRS and state correspondence on your behalf, help with denied tax...

What’s the Best Online Tax Preparation Software? TaxAct vs TurboTax vs H&R Block
In-Person Support During and After Filing. H&R Block has a network of more than 10,000 branches across the United States, making it easy to switch from online to in-person preparation if needed. TurboTax and TaxAct don’t have such support. H&R Block also offers free, in-person audit support for all online filers, a key perk for folks who worry that they might be audited. Its...

  • LPT: Use IRS.gov to file your taxes for free if you make less than $73,000
I was a loyal customer of taxact.com from about 2002 to sometime around 10 years ago when they just jacked up the prices from $12 or $13 to about $40 or more (I think they got bought over by some other company). I looked around and found FreetaxUSA and stuck with them since. Source: about 1 year ago
  • How hard is it to do small business taxes?
I wouldn't trust HR block for anything besides W2 returns. Anything that requires more, they usually won't have experience in. I usually don't suggest businesses to DIY. But if you're taxes are relatively small and simple I would use taxact.com. www.freetaxusa.com is an option also, but I don't know how good their business side of it is. I usually suggest that for w2 returns instead of going to HR block. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Tax Prep Software Prior Years
DIY I would use taxact.com. but this is preparing a return for someone else. so shouldn't be preparing this. partner with a tax pro and outsource the returns. get a cut of the revenue. I think even with 50% of the fee both parties will be happy. Source: over 1 year ago
  • If you have earned income credit because of earned income in 2019 - you can not e-file?
Helping a friend ...tried to file on taxact.com he had earned income in 2019 but no earned income in 2021 from he sources mentioned below - so taxact says -. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Homeschooling is exponentially better than normal schooling (if you know what you’re doing)
The following January or February, you'll get a form in the mail called a W-2 detailing how much money you made from that employer during the previous year and how much was automatically withheld for taxes. (If you worked for two employers during the year, you'll receive two separate W-2s in the mail). When you've collected all your W-2 forms, go to taxact.com or turbotax.com (or something similar)*, and pick... Source: over 1 year ago

  • Free Tax Services?

  • Federal return stuck on "Rejected" status (hrblock.com won't show me the corrected return)
Unfortunately, she tells me that now that it's been escalated to tier 3 she can no longer access it to print it out. She did mention she had done that with a previous client in the same "rejected stuck state" (because he never requested it be escalated and fixed). So they clearly have a bug with their online hrblock.com software. Now on day 14... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Federal return stuck on "Rejected" status (hrblock.com won't show me the corrected return)
Has anyone else experienced this on the hrblock.com website: My tax lady e-filed my return on March 10th. It was promptly rejected by the IRS because she missed an 8xxx form. She then uploaded the missing form but when I log into hrbblock.com is still has the status of "Filed" with an additional status in red of "Rejected". It just says my tax preparer is working on it and will let me know how to proceed (see... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Why do some teachers absolutely hate the fact that I can ace a test without paying attention or studying?
Here's my "how to do taxes" lesson for the once per year per class I get asked this: Go to hrblock.com and do the free tax filing. If you're situation is too complicated for the free version you either a) made enough money to hire a tax pro or b) made enough mistakes you probably wouldn't be smart enough to do it on your own anyway. • Looking to download 2021 HR Block Deluxe + State
Where did you find this link? I'm a little skeptical because this link started popping up in the last two or three weeks randomly on reddit. WHOIS information says this domain was registered in 2020. Does anyone have a link thats referencing hrblock.com instead of this? I have an activation code purchased back in dec 2021 and now struggling to find the link to download the darn software. Source: about 2 years ago
