I use project manager such as Taskade to determine what I am doing the next day, week, and month. I make sure to get my whole daily schedule put down including around what time I am going to do certain tasks. Since writing, I have changed my system to use Google Tasks, which replaces Sortd and Todoist and allows me to prioritise emails and tasks. I have tried them all - NirvanaHQ, TickTick, RTM, Things, Omnifocus, FacileThings, and a whole host of others -- and for what you're talking about, I keep coming back to todoist.
