There may be better places, since I've just stuck to the same one for years now (and don't need them often enough to look into alternatives), but I usually use either subscene or opensubtitles. Shout out to the VLSub add on that let's you download subtitles from vlc. A bit janky but works 90%+ of the time. Source: almost 2 years ago
For all us purists, who prefer soft subtitles and the flexibility it affords, it gets somewhat trickier. Subtitles exist for almost all movies and television shows on the internet.
