I can relate to the watching of a few too many YouTube videos. I realised part of it, at least for me, is that I enjoy video form content. I've set a timer for 45 minutes max on YouTube, through the chrome extension StayFocusd & then purchased a couple of Udemy courses in my field. These changes have helped me at least, let me know how they work for you. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
I think this really opened my eyes to the amount of time I waste while I could be doing things I enjoy. I highly recommend using StayFocused if your on chrome or use another tool called Freedom which does the same thing but on Mac, Windows, and Phone. I downloaded both on my chromebook and phone, so that I would not tempt myself with any websites or notifications that may pull me away from my work. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago

Are you me? SelfControl app if you use Mac! Having alternatives to digital distractions. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
SelfControl is a free and honestly fantastic app for MacOS (https://selfcontrolapp.com) which blocks access to certain websites for a period of time. The main difference vs screen time is that its a specific timer that you start - not a time limit that locks you out of apps after you hit it, and during the limit no matter what you do you cannot escape it - restarting your phone deleting the app will not help. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
