  • Routing table confusion, or did Kirkland move to Kansas?
That's a community cli client https://github.com/sivel/speedtest-cli rather than the official cli client https://www.speedtest.net/apps/cli. Source: 10 months ago
  • running script via cron does not provide full output
If you read the docs for Speedtest-CLI you will see that the program timeouts after 10 seconds. Try using this for default timeout of 1 minute and also redirect errors to the same file. Speedtest-cli --timeout 60 >> /bin/speedtestoutput.txt 2>&1. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Press 'Enter' to Run a SpeedTest (Update v2.5.4) - Self-Hosted SpeedTest - Docker
Already exists https://github.com/sivel/speedtest-cli/, mature, stable, packaged in major distributions. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Can I accept license agreements for my end-users?
I have an open-source software, which can show some stats about your PC/Server. One of those stats is internet speed. I have been using speedtest-cli for now, since it is open-source and runs without having to accept any license agreements. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Fast Network Speed, Slow Internet speeds
Ah that makes sense then. You could try out https://github.com/sivel/speedtest-cli instead on Ubuntu and see what that comes up with but if it’s still detecting a random, far-away server then you’ll have to use the help options to narrow down your test to your country. Or better yet, try and use the same one that’s fine on your PC 🙏. Source: about 2 years ago

  • Frustrated due to low speeds. Usually 300mbps in the day.
For starters, disconnect all wireless devices (or just your wireless router if it’s separate from your modem). Hardwire your modem to a computer and use Ookla Speedtest instead of Spectrum’s. Source: 4 months ago
  • Is this good speed?
Websites like speedtest.net, fast.com and etc do provide measurement in megabits, and even with that, speedtest.net provides it between you and your ISP(mostly) only. So if you want to download something from lets say, YouTube, the speed will be slightly different because now you're connecting to Google's server, not your ISP's server. This is because speedtest.net has partnership with ISPs so that speedtest.net... Source: 4 months ago
  • Help!!! FPS AND downloading games speeds.
If fast.com and speedtest.net are fast, then it's not the computer or your internet. Source: 4 months ago
  • Still trouble shooting
Hi there. I definitely understand the frustration with slow download speeds. Are you able to run a speed test on speedtest.net to see what results you are getting on that computer? Are you having slow speeds on all devices or just this computer particularly? ^David. Source: 4 months ago
