  I just just experienced this. They knew my email address already and the last four digits of my Card. I responded Yes to their text, got called by them and was led through this flow until the password phase. They were very believable. The email is impressive and from sofi.com.   I don't think you need to be a holder of both. I put my mom on my Wells Fargo account and she sent to my account. There is also https://wise.com/us/ . This one I have used to send to someones account in Vietnam. It does have slightly higher fee. But it goes straight into their account.
