Been hosted on WIX websites for 10+ years, while I was a happy camper, knew I nothing about the service for the same money. SlickPic guys took my old site that I've updated myself (you know, takes some time and patience!!!) and built a new one from scratch and all I need to update or change a design is to email Harry (assigned designer). And all that for the same money I've paid before. Fantastic job!
One thing that disappoints, they are missing print integration (not so good for photo-site). Was promised to get it up and running early next year, lets see how it goes, and will update my review.
Based on our record, SmugMug seems to be more popular. It has been mentiond 2 times since March 2021. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
The images are "Second Life" CGI, and they are fairly disgusting to me as well. There are other photography sites: smugmug.com, pexels.us, pixabay.com, unsplash.com, 500px.com, shutterstock.com, etc. Smugmug is the only one that comes close to the searching you can do on Flickr. If you can keep your total uploaded photos under 2gb, you can use dropbox for free, and choose the 1% of your invoice option with photoinvoice. Or you can look at something like smugmug.com which does it all for you, but the pricing varies from $7/mo to $42/mo (the price goes down considerably if you prepay for a whole year). There are other sites like smugmug that will also do this for you. Source: over 2 years ago

SmugMug sucks! I am over their limitations… their customer service is horrifying… any delay during business hours when you have a client who is having issues is not cool. I lost a client last year because of their changes they made where you have to authenticate a gallery download unless you make it public or add a password. I am not adding any extra steps for the client and I sure as hell don’t want to make clientele galleries public. At Slickpic I have entirely separated the gallery and my webpage, not issues whatsoever. Customer support is instant. Haven't used their store features yet, but Smugmug has been super stringent and not friendly within the European union and Uk.
I recommend - SlickPic.
