Customizing the encoding settings is also allowed. However, exporting the converted video with desired codecs, size, and quality in Avidemux is often an error and trial process for most users. Its interface is too out of date and displays many unexplained setting options. Aside from being a free video file converter for PC, Mac, Linux, and BSD, Avidemux also serves as a...

  • Flowblade: Open-Source Video Editor
Any good open source video editor for Windows? Top google results include https://www.openshot.org/ and https://shotcut.org/, but both don't have obvious links to the code repositories and it took me a while to find them which is often not a good sign. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
  • Pitivi – Free video editor with a beautiful and intuitive user interface
Does anyone know how it compares with Shotcut[1]? It's free, open source, and works on Windows, Mac and Linux. I've been a happy user for a while. [1] https://shotcut.org/. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago

I used OBS to capture my screen, shotcut to edit the video, and this command to create a gif (Shotcut also supports exporting to a gif, but it seems to take longer to process). - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago
  • Comparison of Strafe Acceleration in Infinite, Halo 5, and Halo 3
To set the test up, I used OBS, Shotcut, and Excel. As a comparison to Infinite I used H3 MCC and the PC Forge version of H5. Unless otherwise stated, I used a keyboard as an input device in order to reduce the variation between tests, since the analog nature of controller thumb sticks could affect the results. I programmed a keyboard macro to hold A for a period of time, then immediately switch to holding D for a... Source: 7 months ago

  • GUI Video Editing For Linux?
Avidemux is cross-platform and pretty easy to use, without too much of a learning curve. You can set both audio and video to copy when you just want to convert formats with losing quality. For adding a text or a watermark you'd use the "Add logo" filter and maybe tweak down the alpha setting to make it semi-transparent. However you can't do fancy tricks like make the text move across the screen or anything like... Source: about 1 year ago
  • DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor for Avidemux?
I just stumbled upon the Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor and was wondering if someone could tell me whether it would be compatible with Avidemux, which I'm currently using to quickly edit some VHS rips. There's a potential that the Speed Editor would save me a lot of button presses on the keyboard, since I do all the editing on the keyboard in Avidemix. Source: over 1 year ago
