    I'd join some professional organizations like UXPA or SIG CHI and start networking with some folks, learn some more, do some informational interviews. Check out usability.gov.   • Usability.gov's How To & Tools for UX Teams
    Some of those priorities being working on a wide variety of more important projects than their published guides. I'd bet there's a lack of resources behind whatever team at TTS is responsible for usability.gov. It hasn't gotten attention in quite a while (read as: maybe don't judge the entirety of digital services by one older website).
