I would check out https://raddle.me and https://beehaw.org. Both seem to be positive and cozy spaces. They might not have all the relevant communities but it's a good start. Source: 10 months ago

I've seen some other alternatives such as raddle where independent users are trying to recreate the Reddit experience with a new platform (yet it doesn't seem to use the same Karma System, make of that what you will) but I'm still curious to see where everyone is going if large parts of Reddit disappear after July 1st... I know lainchan.org's tech board is into that kind of thing, you can search for their web-ring thread somewhere there. I like creating JS-less sites, and it's fun because HTML and CSS have a lot more functionality than one would imagine. It becomes a game of trying to exploit the most out of the language in creating really interesting websites that everyone can use. Source: almost 2 years ago
