I would check out https://raddle.me and https://beehaw.org. Both seem to be positive and cozy spaces. They might not have all the relevant communities but it's a good start. Source: 10 months ago

I've seen some other alternatives such as raddle where independent users are trying to recreate the Reddit experience with a new platform (yet it doesn't seem to use the same Karma System, make of that what you will) but I'm still curious to see where everyone is going if large parts of Reddit disappear after July 1st... What I want to achieve is something like news.google.com but on YouTube, where I can get latest news about business for example, and then pick the topic (eg. If what you were saying were true, i.e. That Canadian news will still be indexed on Google and will only disappear on news.google.com - then why are members of the Liberal government accusing big tech of planning to block Canadian news links? They aren't threatening, they actually did it. news.google.ca now redirects to news.google.com with news links about Canada from foreign news outlets like BBC and the Economist. Source: 10 months ago
