This feed does not validate, but it works in my feed reader (QuiteRSS, which I switched to specifically because Thunderbird refused to parse invalid feeds that I wanted to follow). • Podcasts/RSS feeds privacy

  I use an offline feed reader (QuiteRSS on desktop and Feeder on Android, and both of them aren't synced) - so whatever tracking happens is due to the links themselves. On desktop I use Pure URL to strip tracking parameters from all links. Haven't found anything that actually works for Iceraven on Android. Source: almost 2 years ago

• HELP! All I did was refresh my RSS feeds and YouTube thinks my IP Address is a bot. So now I can't RSS anymore.

  So this used to be a problem before and I "solved it" by reducing the Number of requests in QuiteRSS down to 2. But considering I had 1000s of channels that I keep track of, it became painfully slow. But it did "solve" the problem. So I stuck with it. Source: over 2 years ago

• How do you filter out reading and watching useless information?

  I use the default application on my Fedora KDE installation, Akregator. It's nothing too fancy but it's functional enough. I haven't explored any of the web applications that allow you to log in to your feed—for now I'd rather just export my directory of feeds as an OPML file backup if I'm switching between installations. • What do you consider to be the best foss RSS reader that has full article in-app reading (like feeder) and keyword based filtering (like readify or sparss decsync) and doesn't require you to have your own server to host?

  If you're a KDE Plasma user, there is Akregator. I don't really browse RSS feeds, so I don't have any basis for comparison, but it does all the things you're looking for. Source: about 2 years ago

  KDE PIM comes with akregator as a feed reader. It is pretty unyielding and convoluted to use and too intrusive in appearance for a feed reader. Several threads in this subreddit also suggest that it is abandoned and unmaintained. There is a simpler kirigami-based alternative called alligator.
