I am on Arch Linux and I am using pywal to generate a colour palette from my wallpaper, which I then use throughout my system. I'd definitely look into pywal for that, it's like a colorscheme manager that fills in templates (some already implemented but it also supports user templates) from either a color scheme you define or by color picking an image. Source: about 1 year ago
