Pinboard ReadwiseWhile all the other bookmarking sites have died, pinboard.in remains and is a reliable and handy place to save all those links you love but are sure to otherwise forget.
I imported my kindle highlights, as many others. Now I daily review some highlights (thanks to a dashboard, I am motivated). And where I didn't create highlights, as I only listened to the audiobooks, I get the highlights from others. It also allows to create beautiful quotes. It adds the book cover and matches quote and background with colours found on the book title! Really nice!
Readwise might be a bit more popular than Pinboard. We know about 81 links to it since March 2021 and only 67 links to Pinboard. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.

The list of text links is basically what https://pinboard.in is, basically - social bookmarking. I only use it privately, but it does have the exact function you're talking about as well. Delicious[1] was delicous, and Pinboard[2] is just there. Not into bookmarks that much except for less than 10 significant websites. I might look at ArchiveBox[3] or something like it to bookmark and take a snapshot. I'm using a similar service - https://pinboard.in to both managing my own bookmarks and to browse other users' public bookmarks of interest by tag or using built-in search functionality. Quite useful imo. I do remember so-called "Web Rings" and still think they were a nice idea (among others, passed away), and it seems to me, del.icio.us and then pinboard.in are one of a few options we still have to make smaller... - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago

I'm between apps at the moment! I would have used Notion except it wasn't possible to use the app on an e-ink screen. I need an app I can compose a synopsis on at the same time as export Kindle highlights to using https://readwise.io/, which narrows the options. I'm looking at Logseq at the moment. Very much agree that Pocket has gotten worse as I've used it over the years. It's so bad I've mostly moved to the much better Readwise (https://readwise.io/). I'd be fully over if they actually supported a decent export (see below). It's sad because I'm probably in the 99th percentile of Pocket users in terms of usage and am happily paying them for Premium. I tend to read highlight and annotate using a Kindle, and subscribe to https://readwise.io/ to transfer my notes to the web. I would like to have the workflow to be able to write up summaries of books, if only for my own reference. At the moment reading my notes is like reading a book in itself. Source: 10 months ago
Some of the things I am doing include highlighting using a Kindle, and with a subscription to https://readwise.io/ downloading those highlights to my laptop. It's possible to automatically orgnanise them into chapters and sections. Source: 10 months ago
