  • Tailwind Color Palette Generator
My go-to color links (general color theory stuff): - https://paletton.com/ palettes with color theory and can generate the entire scheme. - https://medialab.github.io/iwanthue/ I want hue, uses k-means to separate out colors, great for graphs and getting contrast on those. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
  • Tailwind Color Palette Generator
Looks useful for gradients. Strange that nobody mentions Paletton. It's my go to tool when picking colors: https://paletton.com/ You start with the base, and then also get gradients to adjacent colors in the palette. Especially the triad and tetrad ones are useful. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago

  • Artists, how do you navigate color? What tools/techniques do you use?
Could use a pipeline to this one website that scans colors from images and states their name, could be a quick new command like a special screenshot that is sent and scanned then named. Or a phone camera color scanner? There are also other websitesthat could be useful.. Whatever it is, I bet it could work out. Source: 10 months ago

Encycolorpedia.com does GW to Vallejo matches and gives you both the hex code and a little swatch on the screen along with the deltaE. Source: 9 months ago
  • How to turn Vallejo paint into something as thin and workable as 'contrast paint'
Really, since you have no idea what the base pigments are in any color you want, I would refer to my original suggestion. If that isn't enough, then try thinning with a matching medium and then use the wet palette. You can also add a flow aid, but I would suggest a retarder, so the paint dries slightly slower on the model. That may help achieve more of a contrast effect as well. Lastly, if you aren't getting the... Source: 10 months ago
  • Looking for help finding Citadel paint hex codes
Https://encycolorpedia.com/ should do the trick. Source: 11 months ago
  • Colorblind guy cluelessly painting minis
Https://encycolorpedia.com/ is insanely useful not only does it tell you the hex and break down the color composition also if you have a color you like it’ll tell you the closest paint you can buy including citadel paints if there is one. Source: 11 months ago
  • Is there an app/website that shows similar paint colours across different brands?
PaintRack on Android is the best (and worth upgrading to premium), but I should also mention https://encycolorpedia.com/ because you can use it to paint your house :). Source: 11 months ago
